I have episodes at night, but my blood 02 never dropped below 94% during a sleep study. Lifelong rheumatoid arthritis has left me with an undersized lower jaw, which is common in RA patients. My jaw doesn't have to relax much when I'm asleep for it to obstruct my airway. My choices: a CPAP machine or a mouth device from my dentist that holds my lower jaw in a more forward position.CPAP? No thanks, I'm claustrophobic. Dental device - $1500 (no insurance coverage) before knowing if it will work or not. If it aggravates the RA in my jaw, that's money down the drain. When I ran across this on Amazon I figured, why not try it? If it works, I'll know whether getting one from the dentist is worth the money.
